Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Electrician to join our facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems and equipment across our grocery store locations. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring consistent store operations, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance & Repair
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, lighting, and power equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems, refrigeration controls, and automatic doors.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
• Installations
  • Install electrical panels, fixtures, conduit, and outlets for new store layouts or remodels.
  • Support setup and integration of new equipment such as refrigerators, ovens, and POS systems.
  • Work with project managers on store build-outs and facility upgrades.
• Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all work is performed according to NEC codes, OSHA standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
  • Participate in energy audits and implement energy-saving initiatives.
• Coordination
  • Collaborate with store managers and third-party contractors during repair or installation work.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior maintenance staff as needed.
  • Respond to on-call emergencies or off-hour service requests when required.

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid state electrician license or journeyman certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems used in refrigeration, HVAC, and food service equipment.
• Preferred:
  • Experience in a retail or grocery environment.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Proficient in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
• Good physical condition and ability to lift/move equipment
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or in a team

Work Environment:

• Work is performed on-site at various store locations.
• Requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• Exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations typical in retail and backroom areas.
