Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Electrician to join our facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems and equipment across our grocery store locations. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring consistent store operations, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repair
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems, lighting, and power equipment.
- Troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems, refrigeration controls, and automatic doors.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
- Installations
- Install electrical panels, fixtures, conduit, and outlets for new store layouts or remodels.
- Support setup and integration of new equipment such as refrigerators, ovens, and POS systems.
- Work with project managers on store build-outs and facility upgrades.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all work is performed according to NEC codes, OSHA standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
- Participate in energy audits and implement energy-saving initiatives.
- Coordination
- Collaborate with store managers and third-party contractors during repair or installation work.
- Provide technical guidance to junior maintenance staff as needed.
- Respond to on-call emergencies or off-hour service requests when required.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid state electrician license or journeyman certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
- Familiarity with electrical systems used in refrigeration, HVAC, and food service equipment.
- Preferred:
- Experience in a retail or grocery environment.
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- Knowledge of building automation systems.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Proficient in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
- Good physical condition and ability to lift/move equipment
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or in a team
Work Environment:
- Work is performed on-site at various store locations.
- Requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations typical in retail and backroom areas.
