Sr. Process Engineer

About the position

Major and brand name company has an opportunity at a plant site in Indianapolis, IN for a Sr. Process Engineer to add to our team to help us meet the demands of our customers across the country. You will work 1st shift, and report to the Operations Manager. Seen as the technical expert and resource across their area of focus, you will understand our theory of operations for each area and use that knowledge to develop improvement projects, driving critical metrics. You will provide technical support where equipment may need improvement. You will work towards end goals, using external resources and insights, demonstrate command of process engineering principles, and will measure self-performance by actual results and how they are delivered.  There are major company benefits and bonus eligibility of 8%. Vacation is accrued monthly but can be used prior to accruing – 21 days total.  The 401k is matched dollar for dollar up to 6% plus an additional 3% for a total of 9% company contribution.  Relocation assistance is available or for local candidates they can receive a $5,000 sign on bonus in lieu of relocation assistance. 

Responsibilities –

You Will:

  • Be the plant technical resource.
  • Assist the Engineering team in development of important initiates and lead improvement projects supporting operational goals.
  • Understand theory of operations.
  • Define processing competencies and transfer technical learning to operations personnel and site process engineers.
  • Champion ideas with business potential, gaining organizational support.
  • Contribute to the development of process improvement and development pipeline in assigned teams.
  • Technical resource for escalation of chronic operational losses
  • Provide system and tool usage support within pillars.
  • Provide start up manager support for Early Management and R&D.

You Have:

  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Food, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. Direct relevant experience will be considered with high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5+ years' experience in manufacturing environments and project management.
  • Understanding of theory of operations and design of experiments methodologies.
  • Knowledge of unit operations and processing equipment.
