Quality Manager

About the position

Our client. is seeking a proactive and experienced Quality Manager to lead and oversee quality systems, product compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a quality leadership role and must possess a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification. This position plays a critical role in developing strategies to enhance product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. MUST HAVE engineering or technical degree AND black belt or lean practioner certification.

Responsibilities:

§  Lead the Quality Assurance team in maintaining and improving quality systems, procedures, and metrics across manufacturing operations.

§  Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.

§  Serve as the primary point of contact for customer and third-party audits, corrective actions, and product quality issues.

§  Implement and drive Lean Six Sigma projects to reduce variability, defects, and non-conformities.

§  Monitor quality KPIs, conduct trend analysis, and report results to senior management.

§  Develop, mentor, and train quality personnel to enhance team performance and engagement.

§  Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to resolve root causes of quality issues using structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, DMAIC).

§  Oversee supplier quality performance and assist in qualification and audit activities.

§  Champion a culture of Continuous Improvement and operational excellence throughout the facility.

Work Environment:

§  Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment.

§  Occasional travel may be required (<20%), including to suppliers, customer sites, and outlying facilities. Current passport required.

§  Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

Required:

§  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.

§  Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality Manager or similar role within a manufacturing environment.

§  Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or Lean Practitioner Certification.

§  Proven track record of leading successful quality initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.

§  Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, CAPA, root cause analysis).

§  Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and supplier quality management.

§  Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.

Preferred:

§  Working knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP systems.

§  Experience using Microsoft SharePoint for document control and collaboration.

§  Demonstrated success leading Continuous Improvement initiatives.

§  Familiarity with industry-specific standards or compliance requirements.
