Position Title: Stormwater Engineer (Technical Leader)

Location:

• Primary: Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL

• Additional: Crown Point, IN; Indianapolis, IN

• Relocation assistance available for the ideal candidate

Work Arrangement:

• Hybrid model: Work in-office for three days and remotely for two days each week.

Job Type: Full-time position.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

• 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in stormwater resources engineering (consideration given to those with extensive expertise).

• Experience leading technical projects.

• Practical knowledge of stormwater design and oversight.

• Skilled in conducting hydraulic assessments for open channel projects.

• Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS and SWMM.

• Competence in roadway drainage systems and flood mitigation strategies.

• Professional Engineer license from Illinois or Indiana required.

• Demonstrated project portfolio highlighting leadership roles on pertinent projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) credential is advantageous.

• Background in erosion control measures and floodplain management is desirable.

• Proficiency with MicroStation preferred (AutoCAD familiarity beneficial).

Role Summary:

We are looking for a Stormwater Engineer (Technical Leader) who will be part of our Water Resources division. The chosen individual will oversee technical components of assignments by offering hydrological evaluations alongside designing resolutions tailored toward stormwater along with floodplain challenges. This position involves working closely within interdisciplinary teams whilst guiding junior staff members ensuring strong client relations throughout engagements.

Core Duties:

Perform thorough hydrologic along with hydraulic examinations pertinent toward floodplains plus bridges or culvert crossings Analyze trouble areas related toward flooding devise alternative designs focusing upon solutions Create comprehensive plans regarding stormwater infrastructures targeting municipal alongside roadwork initiatives Develop erosion control techniques Serve within capacity leading technically overseeing both engineers plus technicians completing planning documents while independently managing crucial tasks Execute calculations/models compile reports draft layouts conduct cost projections
