Early Career Design Engineer (Auto Industry)

DESIGN 1 ENGINEER (job description)

We have partnered with a Global Automotive Firm at their Detroit Michigan Area location to lead a search for their Design 1 Engineer role. Our client is a leader in Auto R&D and this role comes with a tremendous opportunity for growth.
 

·        Must Have's

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Design Engineer in the Automotive Industry
  • Willing to relocate to the Detroit MI area
  • VISA Sponsorship and Relocation Assistance is offered
  • MUST HAVE CATIA experience and/or knowledge.

 

     The Design Engineer's two core responsibilities will include the design (CAD/technical) and communications (project coordination).

·         Design Engineers lead and drive the execution of new product development projects from Design through CAE, Prototyping, and Testing.

·         You will be designing component parts and make 3D math data and 2D drawings.

·         You will lead communications between the customer and the designers.

·         You will assist in determining and meeting customer requirements, along with assessment of product performance, manufacturability, and cost management.

·         You will set and achieve project objectives, kick-off, milestones, on-time completion and post-project effectiveness analyses.


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering required


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
 

  • MUST HAVE CATIA experience and/or knowledge.
  • 1-2 years working experience in the Automotive Industry.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
  • 1-2 years of related product design experience.
