Land Surveyor - PLS - Ft. Walton Beach Florida

We are recruiting with purpose for a Professional Land Surveyor to join our client’s team in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.

Position Summary

In this role, you will actively contribute to a team-oriented culture, foster communication across departments, and build strong relationships with clients and contractors. As a Professional Land Surveyor, you’ll help manage the surveying department, support engineering operations, and mentor and develop team members. You will also oversee the scheduling and supervision of survey crews, and play a lead role in hiring and coaching staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain detailed sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions to certify survey work.

• Ensure accuracy of survey data, including field measurements and calculations, particularly for easements.

• Conduct or oversee boundary surveys based on legal documentation (deeds, titles, etc.).

• Record and interpret survey results related to land features such as location, elevation, contour, and dimensions.

• Calculate property lines, elevations, terrain characteristics, and other key measurements.

• Supervise the preparation of all data, maps, records, charts, and documents related to surveys.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Florida (Required)

• 4+ years of general land surveying experience

• 5+ years of experience with AutoCAD or related surveying software

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects while staying within budget and timeline constraints

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills

• Experience in leading teams and managing surveying operations

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills

• Valid Driver’s License

• Florida Surveyor License
