Service System Specialist

About the position
Job Description
- Install and service Building Automation and Control Systems
- Perform end-to-end system checks, startup, and commissioning
- Troubleshoot and repair DDC, HVAC, and lighting control systems
- Read and interpret control drawings, electrical and mechanical plans
- Work with low-voltage wiring, sensors, actuators, and control panels
- Coordinate with contractors and internal teams on site
- Provide preventive maintenance and customer training
- Maintain accurate records of work, time, materials, and costs
- Travel locally as needed, including occasional overtime or weekends
Background Profile
- 5–10 years of experience in building automation, controls, or related fields
- Knowledge of BAS/BMS/DDC/HVAC systems
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Familiarity with Ethernet, RS485, BACnet, and LON networks
- Experience with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and basic networking
- Able to work independently and communicate clearly with customers
- Valid driver’s license and ability to get security clearance (no criminal record or DUI)
- Experience with platforms like Siemens Talon, Smart 2, AX, N4, or PPCL is a plus
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Tridium AX, N4) are a plus
Education
- High school diploma plus a 4-year vocational program or equivalent work experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Professional certifications are a bonus
