Service System Specialist

About the position

Job Description

  • Install and service Building Automation and Control Systems
  • Perform end-to-end system checks, startup, and commissioning
  • Troubleshoot and repair DDC, HVAC, and lighting control systems
  • Read and interpret control drawings, electrical and mechanical plans
  • Work with low-voltage wiring, sensors, actuators, and control panels
  • Coordinate with contractors and internal teams on site
  • Provide preventive maintenance and customer training
  • Maintain accurate records of work, time, materials, and costs
  • Travel locally as needed, including occasional overtime or weekends

 

Background Profile

  • 5–10 years of experience in building automation, controls, or related fields
  • Knowledge of BAS/BMS/DDC/HVAC systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with Ethernet, RS485, BACnet, and LON networks
  • Experience with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and basic networking
  • Able to work independently and communicate clearly with customers
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to get security clearance (no criminal record or DUI)
  • Experience with platforms like Siemens Talon, Smart 2, AX, N4, or PPCL is a plus
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Tridium AX, N4) are a plus

 

Education

  • High school diploma plus a 4-year vocational program or equivalent work experience
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Professional certifications are a bonus
