About the position
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regional Director of Sales is responsible for driving sales and business growth of genetic testing products, including noninvasive prenatal testing, carrier screening, and miscarriage testing. This leadership role ensures profitable revenue generation through the planning, execution, and management of a team of six to eight clinical field specialists (sales representatives) within a designated territory. The Regional Director of Sales is accountable for team development, performance tracking, budget management, and coordination of corporate support to achieve regional sales objectives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Educate and recruit Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within the OB-GYN medical community.

Become an expert in the company's genetic testing technologies and service offerings and represent the organization to physicians and hospitals.

Develop and execute plans for the successful distribution of all assigned products.

Create business plans aligned with sales goals, resource availability, and regional strategy.

Lead recruiting, hiring, and training efforts for sales professionals within the region.

Deliver constructive coaching and feedback to sales team members to help them reach their full potential.

Spend significant time in the field with sales representatives to provide mentorship, guidance, and feedback.

Use market analysis and field insights to implement best practices and strategic direction across the region.

Plan and implement optimal territory alignments to maximize return on investment.

Support team members’ career development and provide leadership guidance.

Foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and key external customer segments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required; MBA is preferred.

Background in medical or biological sciences; experience in clinical diagnostics is preferred.

Minimum of three years’ experience in physician-focused sales within the diagnostic laboratory sector (preferably in genetic testing).

At least five years of successful sales management experience, ideally in the diagnostic laboratory space.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrated success leading sales teams to expand markets, launch products, and drive rapid revenue growth.

Recognized for outstanding management performance.

Familiarity with the reproductive health market is a plus.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Team-oriented with excellent coaching ability and a willingness to receive feedback.

Strong problem-solving capabilities and a results-driven approach.

Proven leadership with the ability to execute both strategically and tactically.

Technologically proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Gmail, and Salesforce.com.
