Store Manager - Supermarkets
Role Overview
As the Store Manager, you will lead by example, embodying top-notch customer service for both patrons and staff. You are responsible for ensuring exceptional experiences and guiding your team to do likewise. You will also be in charge of propelling your store's achievements and fostering its growth. In this capacity, you will:
Educate team members and customers about our offerings.
Collaborate with Department Heads and the Assistant Store Manager to guarantee that all essential operations and merchandising strategies are consistently implemented.
Enhance performance by reviewing sales data, P&L statements, and other indicators to develop action plans.
Foster open communication channels with all team members to ensure transparency throughout the organization.
Anticipate staffing needs by participating in recruitment efforts for new hires.
Mentor, train, and support Assistant Managers along with other staff members.
Oversee inventory management and staffing to minimize product waste or shrinkage.
Ensure that associates comply with company policies and standards.
Guarantee compliance with safety regulations including food safety protocols as mandated by policies or legal requirements.
Availability
This role demands flexibility in working hours including weekends, evenings, holidays as required.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required alongside a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a retail environment characterized by high traffic or volume.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook
Demonstrated verbal & written communication skills necessary for effective interaction with colleagues, supervisors & clients.
Capacity to comprehend & adhere to guidelines & procedures.
Competency in interpreting planograms & layouts related to departmental merchandising schemes.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Experience within perishable goods sectors such as hospitality or grocery retail
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Engage in repetitive hand/arm actions; ability required for lifting/pushing/pulling items up-to fifty pounds independently; exposure possible towards extreme temperatures
Use of equipment: knives ladders step tools box cutters pallet jacks etc., unless under eighteen
Stand/walk continuously (up-to four-hour intervals subject-to legal stipulations)
