Senior Manager OR Director of Accounting and Business Advisory

About the position

Top 25 CPA firm in Atlanta is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and self-motivated Senior Manager or Director to join their growing Accounting and Business Advisory team in Atlanta!

Either level will be considered. 

The ideal Senior Manager candidate will have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of well-rounded accounting and/or finance experience preferably in the Construction, Real Estate, Medical, Manufacturing, or Distribution industries with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management/supervisory role. The ideal Director candidate will have a minimum of 10-12 years of well-rounded accounting and/or finance experience preferably in the Construction, Real Estate, Medical, Manufacturing, or Distribution industries with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a management/supervisory role. Our corporate accounting team works closely with our clients to provide flexible and scalable accounting support and finance and business consulting to launch businesses to the next phase of growth. The firm works with a large number of clients (40-50) that range from small ($1M or less) to $5M.

Accounting and Business Advisory Senior Managers are responsible for (but not limited to):

• Managing projects including weekly, monthly, and year-end close processes, management reporting and preparing reconciliations
• Maintaining fixed assets and depreciation schedules
• Designing, implementing, and/or converting systems for clients
• Calculating and reporting indirect taxes
• Helping clients prepare cash flow and or financial projections
• Reviewing client's payroll and benefits processing and 1099 preparation
• Advising clients on both tactical and strategic financial decisions
• Ability to serve in an outsourced or contracted interim/fractional Controller or CFO role
• Troubleshooting client issues as they arise
• Actively managing numerous staff at various levels working on a variety of projects.  This would include addressing mentoring, career development, and other personnel issues.
 

Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA license a plus
• Minimum experience levels as noted above
Proficient with QuickBooks Desktop or Online and Excel. Experience using the following software is also a plus: Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Sage 50 (Peachtree), Sage 100 (Master Builder), Sage 300 (Timberline), Sys pro, fixed asset software, ProSystems Fx Engagement.
• Hands-on industry experience with Controller and CFO functions.
• Prior experience working with a wide variety of challenges and creating viable solutions for clients across many different industries
• Some accounting experience within real estate, manufacturing, distribution, or construction a must
• Ability to travel to client locations as needed
• Experience with payroll functions and related tax compliance is a plus
• Experience preparing Sales & Use Tax returns is a plus
• Prior experience serving clients in a professional services environment is a plus
• Consultative approach and client service oriented
• Exceptional, detailed and proactive communicator (verbal & written)
• Self-Directed, Autonomous, Ambitious
• Solid staff management experience and skills including addressing client-related and personnel-related issues.
Experience in a CPA firm with large number of clients (40-50) is required
